Lomaseutu is a wonderful place to escape the buzz of the city to Mother Nature’s arms and the peace and quiet of the countryside. It is said that when we slow down in a natural environment, we find our true selves.

The Lomaseutu holiday region is a nature travel paradise amidst wilderness and peace

The Salamajärvi National Park located in the Lomaseutu, and its longest trail, the 115-kilometre Peuran polku (the deer’s path) are some of the southernmost areas of the Suomenselkä watershed where you can experience the feel of a real wilderness. In the shadow of the woods, you can enjoy the peace and experience its healing powers. And if you are lucky, you might see our regional animal, the Finnish forest reindeer. A niliaitta, similar to a food cache, is a little cottage perched atop a pillar, which revives an old Finnish building tradition and refines it into a cultural lodging experience for its visitors. From the cache’s wall-sized window, you get a magnificent view of nature in all its beauty. The breathtaking view from the window is ever changing! Internationally renowned Finnish brands have been used in the interior design of the niliatta cache.
